Allow me to introduce myself, and Victoria Automatic
Transmission Service Ltd. My name is Chris Wille,
manager and vice-president of Victoria Automatic
Transmission Service Ltd. We have 4 shops and 44
service bays to serve the Greater Victoria area,
from Colwood to Sidney. Victoria Automatic
Transmission Service has a long and proud history of
service to Victoria’s driving population, dating
back over 40 years to the late 1950’s when my father
started with a 2 bay gas station on Gorge Road.
Then, as now, automatic transmissions were very
mysterious and complicated, and few people had the
knowledge to understand how they operated, and more
importantly, how to fix them.

Over the years, as the business grew my father,
Frank Wille, expanded to meet customer demand and
opened a location on Dupplin Road in a large old
warehouse. This location was torn down in the late
1980’s to make way for his expanding car dealership
operations. We built a modern transmission shop
across the street at that time, enhancing the local
community by tearing down several old, derelict
houses.

 Fast
forward to today, and we have a current, modern
repair facility for all makes and models of
vehicles, all the way from a Honda Civic right up to
a tandem axle garbage truck, as well as a full size
Class A Motor Homes. As a “next generation” baby
boomer, I have been managing our Dupplin Road
location for close to 30 years now. Our business is
unique as we are the largest and only group of
transmission shops on the Island that have been
owned and operated by the same family for over 40
years. Over these years, we have sponsored many
community sports teams and participated in countless
community fund raising activities. Our 4 locations
provide secure employment to 41 full time staff, and
6 part time staff.

  We constantly undergo upgrading and training to stay
current on the newest electronic, computer
controlled transmissions. Our location employs a
full time licensed mechanic, in order to perform
general repairs including brakes, tune-ups, motor
work, and general maintenance. New! New!

program. This is in response to being better able to
service the needs of our growing customer base. Many
of our clients are very busy with their daily lives,
and providing one stop auto shop repairs save their
time, and they appreciate that. When their vehicle
is repaired at Victoria Automatic Transmission
Service, client’s vehicles will be fixed right. We
at Victoria Automatic Transmission Service strive
for service excellence at all times, and provide the
free use of courtesy cars when client’s cars are in
for repairs. We also have a “customer service rep”
that drops people off and picks them up, providing
an added service for our clients.

A BCAA survey card is sent out to
make sure clients are happy and are getting good
service. In many cases, low interest financing can
be arranged to help our clients spread the cost of a
repair bill out, making it easier for them to afford
the repairs. We stay after hours, as required, to
get a job done.
We are open 6 days a week for customer convenience.
At Victoria Automatic Transmission, we feel our
strongest asset is our dedicated employees. There is
no shop in town that has the technical know how of
our hard working technicians, which together have
over 200 years experience. We provide secure
employment to our employees, many of whom have been
with us for 12 to 26 years. As a long standing member of ATRA, the Automatic
Transmission Rebuilders Assn., we
are part of a network of over 2,000 independent
transmission facilities throughout Canada and the
USA. Through ATRA, we can provide our clients with a
“nationwide warranty”, valid in Canada and the USA.
This gives our clients “piece of mind” when
traveling. Victoria Automatic Transmission Service has also
diversified and expanded by investing in the tooling
and manpower to rebuild our own torque converters on
site. This saves our client’s time, as we previously
had to send all our torque converters to Vancouver
for processing. This resulted in inefficient delays
in customer service. Our torque converter and
driveshaft repair facility provides direct
employment to 3 full time staff and 1 part time

client’s a wider range of maintenance services for
their vehicle. Recent equipment additions allow us
to perform state of the art coolant flushes, brake
fluid flushes, Motorvac de-carbonization service,
power steering flushes, oil changes and all regular
maintenance services. Regular maintenance saves
money, avoids the likelihood of a costly breakdown,
provides peace of mind, trouble free driving and
satisfies manufacturer’s maintenance warranty
requirements. Our shop is evolving, and we are
working hard to provide the best in full maintenance
services to our clients. |

Welcome to Victoria Automatic Transmission
Service Group (VATS).
The Victoria Automatic Transmission Service Group is comprised of six
automatic transmission repair services in four locations around
Greater Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. We service all makes
of Automatic Transmissions as well as general automotive repair.
