Race Torque Converters
 Race Converters are customer built taking into account peak
torque, horse power, rear gear ratio, tire height and width,
vehicle weight, suspension, shifting rpm, maximum rpm,
transmission gear ratio, and track elevation. We then take
that information and build the proper diameter convert to
maximize you vehicles performance. At Island Torque
Converters we are interested in what your longer term goals
are so that you don't purchase a torque converter this year
only to have to go through the same process and expense next
year.

Diesel Performance Torque Converters
Island Torque Converters offer diesel performance torque
converters with lower stall speeds than the factory units.
Although peak torque occurs at 1600-1800 rpm, performance
modifications can cause the converter to stall as high as
2400 rpm. Our aftermarket steel and aluminum stator along
with our internal clearance modifications will bring the
stall speed back to around 1600-1900 rpm increasing
drivability as well as increasing fuel mileage. These
modifications are available for Dodge, Ford, and GM
applications. As well as stall speed modifications we offer
updates to factory specifications by offering bearing
updates as well as our "extreme duty" multi disk clutch
setup along with our "billet cover". This clutch update
effectively triples the amount of clutch apply area
increasing holding power and helps to reduce heat generated.
